Floyd County Warrant Roundup Follows Two Month Undercover Investigation

On Friday, June 4, 2010, a multi-agency task force, made up of over 55 law enforcement officers from the Southern Indiana region, began executing 54 felony warrants in the Floyd County/Southern Indiana area. All but one of the warrants were drug related.

Forty-four defendants and four non-targets of the investigation were apprehended; the operation is ongoing, and four warrants remain outstanding at this time. Several defendants have been apprehended in the days following the roundup.

The New Albany Police Department, Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, and the Indiana State Police were instrumental in the two month undercover investigation that preceded the issuance of these warrants. Law enforcement officers from the Georgetown Police Department, Indiana University Southeast Police Department, and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources assisted in Friday’s warrant roundup.
