Courier-Journal Article Explains Prevalence of Plea Bargains in Criminal Justice System

In a January 6, 2011 article, “Plea Deals Trump Trials in Indiana,” the Courier-Journal presents an informative view for the general public in which Prosecutor Keith A. Henderson, and several other local elected officials and attorneys, describe the prevalence and rationale of plea bargains in the criminal justice system.

The article cites the 2009 Indiana Judicial Service Report, released in November, which shows the number of felony case filings and dispositions for that calendar year.
