New Albany resident Christopher Baxter, 55, was found guilty on Friday, July 13 by a panel of 12 jurors in the 1990 murder of his 32-year-old wife Robin Baxter.

The murder trial began Monday, July 9 in Floyd County Superior Court No. 3.

Baxter was charged with the 22-year-old murder in February 2012 after the case was revisited by Detective Perry Parsons of the New Albany Police Department. Parsons’ father, retired New Albany Police Detective Paul Parsons, was one of the original investigators assigned to the case.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for August 7, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Baxter faces a penalty range of 45 to 65 years incarceration. The advisory sentence for murder in Indiana is 55 years.
