New Albany Man to be Sentenced for Murder

A New Albany man will be sentenced in Floyd County Circuit Court on Tuesday, December 18 at 1:30 pm for the shooting death of Amanda McAnelly, 23.

Ivan Chambers, 27, plead guilty to one count of Murder at a hearing held October 30, 2012. He faces a 50 year executed sentence with the Indiana Department of Correction.

The homicide occurred July 20, 2012 at the victim’s New Albany apartment; McAnelly died from multiple gunshot wounds to the head. The subsequent investigation and arrest of Chambers were conducted by the New Albany Police Department.

The Floyd County Circuit Court is located on the fourth floor of the New Albany City-County Building at 311 Hauss Square in New Albany, Indiana.
