Barlow Pleads Guilty in the Vehicular Homicide Deaths of Four Victims

On Friday, December 20, 2013, 33-year-old Charles Barlow pled guilty to one count of Causing Death When Operating a Motor Vehicle with an ACE of .15% or more, a Class B Felony, and to three counts of Reckless Homicide, each listed as a Class C Felony, in addition to a Habitual Offender Enhancement.

Formal charges were filed by the Floyd County Prosecutor’s Office against Barlow in October of 2012. It was alleged that because of his intoxication he caused the fatal motor vehicle crash on State Road 111 in Floyd County, which resulted in the deaths of Thomas Stinson, 60, Michael Roby, 31, Tara Hirsekorn, 39, and Laura Weigand, 23.

Based on the plea agreement, Barlow can be sentenced up to 44 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections. He will be formally sentenced at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2013 in the Floyd County Superior Court 1.
