Gibson Pleads Guilty to the 2002 Murder of Karen Hodella

On Thursday, March 20, 2014, 56-year-old William Clyde Gibson III pled guilty to the brutal murder of 44-year-old Karen Hodella on October 10, 2002. The body was dumped in the Ohio River and eventually located in Clarksville, Indiana.

The formal sentencing has been set for Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 11:00am in the Floyd County Superior Court 1. The defendant faces a maximum of 65 years at the Indiana Department of Corrections in accordance with the plea agreement. Gibson was found guilty last October for the murder of 75-year-old Christine Whitis and was sentenced to death. He is scheduled to be tried for the murder of 35-year-old Stephanie Kirk in June 2014.
