About the Office

The Floyd County Prosecutor is charged with the responsibility of representing the State of Indiana in all felony and misdemeanor criminal prosecutions resulting from criminal activity within Floyd County, Indiana. Juvenile violations, all traffic offenses, and other infraction violations of state law within Floyd County are handled by this office.

In addition, the Office of the Floyd County Prosecutor is responsible for enforcing certain child support court orders through its Title IV-D Child Support Division.

The Prosecutor is elected every four years and must be a lawyer licensed to practice law in the State of Indiana. The current Prosecutor, Keith A. Henderson, was elected to serve in November 2002 and began his first term on January 1, 2003. Mr. Henderson won re-election in November 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018. He is currently serving his fifth term in office as the Floyd County Prosecutor.

  • Prosecutor’s Victim Assistance Coordinator

    A victim of crime in connection with criminal charges filed by this office may be eligible to receive assistance from our Victim's Assistance Coordinator.

    The Victim’s Assistance Coordinator provides information for victims through interactions with law enforcement, prosecutors and during court proceedings; by providing support and guidance to victims and their families; by informing victims of their rights; and by advising victims and/or their families of case developments and any upcoming trial court or hearing dates.
